One of the UK’s largest music festival starts this weekend, Friday 10th July – Sunday 11th July 2009. We take a look at the 5 music acts appearing at T in the Park 09 that you should rock to when joining the the sell out crowd of 85,000 music fans from around the UK at Scotland’s largest outdoor music festival – T in the Park at Balado airfield in Kinross local area

1.  Blur

Blur returns to perform at T in the Park for the first time since 1999, having prevuiously played in the King Tuts tent in 1994, the first T in the Park festival when it used to be held in Glasgow.  Blur, the recently reunited band, have just had two sell-out shows at London’s Hyde Park in early July 09.  Blur will be the final act to perform on the Main stage at T in the Park – at 21.00 – 22.50   During the T in the Park’s 09 closing performance Blur are expected to sing their popular festival anthems in the shape of Coffee & Tv, Tender, Song 2, The Universal and Park life.

2.  King of Leon

Appearing for the 5th time at T in the Park 09 this weekend at the Baldo airfield are the UK’s band of the
moment King of Leon, who have just had their most successful year to date, which has seen latest release
‘Only By The Night’ hit the No. 1 spot and become their biggest ever seller.  The King of Leon band, the Grammy scooping, double Brit Award winning force will take to the T in the Park main stage on Friday night at 22.10 – 23.50.

3.  Snow Patrol

It’s a ten year anniversary for Irish rock veterans Snow Patrol at T in the Park as they get set to co-headline Sunday night’s main stage, following what was then a career crafting shot on the now T Break stage. Snow Patrol will return back this weekend to Balado with a raft of anthems, new and old, under their belts including their latest Top 10 offering `Take back the Summer`  Snow Patrol will be performing on the T in the Park 09 main stage on Sunday night at 19.00 – 20.30

4. Katy Perry

Making her T in the Park debut this week is the sassy Santa Barbara beauty Katy Perry.  Katy earned her recent Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performances after which she beat Bevonce to pick up Best International Female at the 2009 Brit Awards.  After hitting the Number 1 slot in over 30 countries with ‘I Kissed a Girl’  back in 2008, she has gone on to sell over 2 million copies worldwide of her debut album ‘One of the Boys’.  Her eclectic influences, ranging from legendary acts such as Queen to the experimental prog pop of Incubus, are a long way from her gospel training.   Katy Perry will be performing at T in the Park 09 on Saturday at the Radio 1/NME stage at 17.45 – 18.30

5  The Killers

The Las Vegas show men will be making their fourth appearance at this year’s T in the Park music festival.  Their first introduction to T in the Park was in 2004.  With their recent release of their latest music album, `Day and Night` spawning the anthem of 08 at T in the Park, `Human.`  The Killers are sure to put on a lively show to rival or beat their previous 3 T in the Park appearance at Balado.  The Vegas based, Killers will be performing this weekend on Saturday, on the main stage at 21.10 – 22.50

    These are really boring and obvious choices. Why not Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and The Gaslight Anthem?
